Sadly, Viola Wills passed away after a long illness on 6 May 2009.One of my all-time favourite songs is Viola's "Dare to Dream".

Once again we lose someone who brought joy, this last year too many have left us... Norman Whitfield, Levi Stubbs etc and now Viola. They leave with our thanks and may they all now rest in peace
Thanks for posting this. I didn't even hear about her passing away. It's so sad. "Dare to Dream" will always be one of my all time favorite songs.

Unless an artist is of the stature of Aretha, or carries on like bad boys and girls, we just don't hear about them in a place of importance in the news. This tribute indicates the level of importance we soul music lovers place on all of our artists. Thank you for this.
